I have been researching the Arizona market for the last four days. I found your very informative website and think it is fabulous. In my research I am trying to get a feel for neighbourhoods. For example, when we moved from a city of 120,000 to a country home, we were connected to a small town of 3,000. That was good, but the actual area that we bought into (45 minutes out of town) was part of a lower class homes area. We couldn’t rightly see this by the naked eye, but we now know *the* areas to buy in. When we moved from that area to our new neighbourhood, our home value doubled.
So I am trying to get a feel for neighbourhoods/cities/towns in your state. For instance, Queen Creek and Maricopa are listed at 34 and 35 - does this make them less desirable areas to live?
We are thinking of a winter home - somewhere that we could travel down to for a few weeks / or months in winter. We have seven children at home, (ages 5-17), so we would want an area that had amenities to suit a family. We presently live in a small town, so would love the idea of being in a larger town with countryside/hiking/mountains/beauty/nature not too far away (within 15-20 minutes).
We also like the idea of a newer subdivision where our children could ride bikes. I guess, because we live on 167 acres, we are thinking of something a little more townlike, to give us something different, yet at the same time, something that gives us options for outings.
Is there any chance that you would know of any websites that would show photos/videos/aireal shots of the different areas. I know this is a bit much too ask. We would love to come down there but we are not moving very quickly on this decision - so we will have time to come down later this year or early in the new year.
